Farming
I have been playing guild wars for a while now and i haven't been able to get a decent amount of money to buy new items. I know most people consider farming a cheap way to get money and that it ruins a major part of the game but i have been collecting money the old fashoned way and i only have about 80k after about 3 months. Does anyone have good farming tips or at least an easy way to get money?

here is a couple of tips i use to make more money
1. do missions, quests, etc. with a few people as possible, that way you get more drops 2. never leave ANY drops behind, everything is worth gold, and it adds up 3. lots of people do leave drops behind, do Villany of Galrath quest for instance, you have to travel way far away from town, most people use the map to get back, stay behind and pick up everything they have left, you will get alot more items=more gold 4. if something isnt worth much, then salvage it, often times you can sell the materials for more than the item was worth |

A Smite Monk with no superiors can farm Riverside. Lots of Cloth, Tanned Hide, Iron and Wood can be salvaged. The occassional Rune too.
The 55 hit point build for Smite Monks can solo most of UW, Hydras at Augury, Griffons at Vultures , Giants and Mountain Trolls. Basically any mele mob. Good money can be made, 5-10k an hour. Sometimes more. And of course Ecto's are 8k or so a pop... Happy Hunting! |

you can do an extremely fast smite run from hot springs to toa, all undead and all can be dispatched easily. i made about 100k in a day doing that and its effortless

I don't think you are doing too bad with 80k... I only have 40k, made by 3 characters at Drok's in the past 3 months... But yes, leave nothing behind. Sell everything and buy nothing is my strategy.

Money isn't everything. I know that it can be a bit annoying to see people bidding 100k on these forums for great items. But you can play the game very well with more modest equipment, even PvP.
The great thing about Guild Wars is that equipment can only help so much. The real challenge is getting the right skill combo! |
